Arch Top Tone Ring

Actually a misnomer, better termed "raised concentric ring". The arch top ring has an inner ring that rises higher so that the head rides on this inner, smaller ring making for a smaller vibrating surface. This produces a sharper, thinner tone than a flat head ring.
